This is where the archive breathes. Market chatter. Oil sizzling in a pan. A dolmuş driver calling out a stop. A grandmother's radio, half-tuned between stations. Sound doesn't explain itself the way a caption does, it just arrives, and lingers, and asks you to feel your way through it. We built this section because some things about everyday life in Turkey and the wider region simply can't be photographed. A voice cracking with laughter. The rhythm of a call to prayer drifting over rooftops. These are fragments of memory that no single image could ever hold.
How it works:
As you move through this space, you'll be asked to choose which sound to follow, not the "right" one, just the one that pulls you. Each choice opens a different thread, a different memory, a different way into the everyday. There's no wrong path here.
 Want to add your voice?:
You can leave a short recording, or describe a sound that means something to you, a song, a street, a kitchen. It joins the collage. It doesn't need to be explained. It just needs to be yours.
